Established in 1942, the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) is the national professional association dedicated to advancing population health and disease prevention in the education of physicians and other health professionals. APTR individual members are faculty, researchers, practitioners, administrators, residents and students. APTR institutional members include preventive medicine and related medical school departments, graduate programs in public health and preventive medicine, other health professions schools and various health agencies.
The American Journal of Preventive Medicine is the official APTR journal, publishing articles in the areas of prevention research, teaching, practice and policy.
