The object of the Association shall be to provide a forum for the discussion of research, advances in clinical practice and the results of predominantly surgical procedures of all types relating to the hip joint.
Reginald ELSON was asked by the President (Michael FREEMAN) and the Secretary (Jacques DUPARC) of the Congress Board of the European Federation of Orthopaedics to work on the formation of a European Society for Surgery of the Hip. The European Hip Society was founded in Hamburg on Saturday the 17th of October 1992.
At their meeting, the Founder Members decided upon a Constitution.
The field of hip is huge. From pediatric orthopaedics, ultrasound and children, to orthogeriatrics work with all the problems around the hip... This is a beautiful field for young researchers and young residents wanting to specialize in the hip, and the best way to do this is to join our society. Our mission is to develop our society – not only with the ExCom members in our various committees, but also with each and every member – to become one of the most outstanding specialty societies in Europe.
